Forgiveness -- When Love Surrounds Repentance

In this message, we explored why forgiveness is one of the hardest commands in the Christian life and why the gospel is both our motive and our model for extending it to others. Looking at the parable of the unforgiving servant, the forgiveness of Christ, and the relationship between repentance and restoration, we were reminded that believers have been forgiven an immeasurable debt through Jesus Christ. Because of that, we are called to release bitterness, trust God with justice, and stand ready to restore relationships when repentance occurs. Ultimately, forgiveness is not rooted in what others deserve, but in the grace we ourselves have received through the gospel.
